REVIEW JURNAL : PERBANDINGAN METODE JARINGAN SYARAF TIRUAN BACKPROPAGATION DAN LEARNING VECTOR QUANTIZATION  PADA PENGENALAN WAJAH ABSTRAK Pengenalan wajah merupakan suatu bidang yang masih terus diteliti dan dikembangkan untuk berbagai keperluan seperti absensi, pendataan penduduk, sistem keamanan dan lain-lain. Metode kecerdasan buatan khususnya jaringan syaraf tiruan (JST) backpropagation dan learning vector quantization adalah dua metode yang sering digunakan untuk aplikasi pengenalan wajah. Kedua metode tersebut merupakan metode pembelajaran terawasi yang biasa dipakai untuk pengenalan pola secara tipikal, yaitu mengelompokkan pola-pola ke dalam kelas-kelas pola, sehingga tepat untuk digunakan dalam aplikasi pengenalan wajah. Dalam aplikasi ini, dilakukan  preprocessing  citra terhadap citra masukan sebelum citra tersebut diolah dalam dalam JST, diantaranya proses scalling, grayscale, edgedetection dengan metode sobel dan thresholding.
